Surviving the Summer Heat

Well...it is no secret that Missouri is H-O-T. It's a different kind of hot than Alabama, it isn't as humid so you don't really know when do drink water or not. I've learned to continue to drink water to avoid heat exhaustion at all costs.

I've never quite mastered the infamous "top knot" since my hair is extremely thick and long it turns out to be just a huge pickle on my head....maybe one day I'll sport the ever-so-chic and effortless top knot and tie a headband around it. Until that fantasy comes to be a reality, I'll keep my hair off my neck with some maiden braids.
I'm still loving the open back & cut out trend this summer, it couldn't have come at us at a better time! They are perfect for light breezes and bike rides (but hey...what doesn't go great with a bike ride?!)
 Isn't this backpack great?! My parents picked it up from a Free People store in California, they know me so well!

{Shirt: gifted from a friend, Belt: F21, Shorts: Thrifted, Shoes: TJMaxx, Bag: Free People}

I hope you are staying cool on this hot day! Remember to stay hydrated ;)
