Lovely! Just discovered your blog and I'm now following! Such a pretty sounding verse, I was wondering, what exactly does it mean? (I'm not the best at figuring these things out)
I love the verse Galatians 5:13 because it says we (as humans) are called to be free. It also says not to use our freedom as an excuse to do whatever we want. We should use this freedom to serve one another as ourselves. As we love others, our freedom grows. On my blog the verse is shortened into just a few words and you really have to read the whole Bible verse to really grasp the meaning. When it says we are "free" it means when you are living in a relationship with God you can trust in Him for all things. God wants us to love others, just as He loves them and when we love each other as ourselves (a way of doing that is serving one another and helping them out) we are basically saying we aren't indulging ourselves in the cares of this world but actually doing something that will make a lasting impact and difference because people are so much more important than worldly things (drama, money, selfishness, materialistic needs, etc). I hope this makes sense and if it doesn't let me know I'd love to talk more about it with you!
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful explanation! It makes so much sense now, it also really clicks with me because I just got back from a spiritual retreat with a group at my college, and we focused a lot on this, loving and helping others. A beautiful message!
SO beautiful. Think I want to start writing out a verse each week in pretty letters like this and then meditate on it all week. LOVE this. xo
