My mom got me and my sisters a book called Imagine Big. I'm slowly making my way through it (because reading is just...not my "thing") and it is basically showing you how to dream bigger dreams and see those things come to pass. I've never been one to clearly write out my dreams or goals in life, I never really knew/know what I want to do "when I grow up" but I have been challenged by this book, and where I am in my life, to be specific in dreaming and to dream bigger than ever before.

One of the hardest parts has been being specific, and writing down what I am going to do to see those dreams come alive. Have you ever tried this before? How did it work out for you? I think it is really starting to shift some of my thinking and it is challenging me daily. I'm excited to see what comes from being diligent, specific, and devoted.

  1. I think having a 'bucket list' of sorts is a good thing. It means that you have something to work towards, something that is truly your own goal (not anyone elses). The problem is however when we start finding our worth and happiness in achieving these goals. I'm slowly realising that accomplishing goals/aspirations is a great and wonderful thing but that doesn't mean that I am a great and wonderful person.

    1. I agree, Samantha. I think bucket lists/goals/dreams are great..but our self worth will never come from any type of success!

  2. Love your style photographs, co cool and beautiful :) Love your blog!

  3. Your hair is disturbingly perfect... hehe lovely photos!

  4. oh la la! Lovely outfit. Those pants would totally intimidate me but you make it look so easy, practical, and comfy too ;]

I definitely struggle with being specific and diligent with my visions and dreams. Being a visionary can be so easy, but its the day to day that is the most challenging to me. What I've found to be a great help is to work your way up to your huge dreams by setting small, realistic goals. Kind of like paying off debt! or dieting! Recognizing, tracking, and hey... rewarding! your progress (no matter how small) provides the encouragement and determination to keep going. Huge dreams can seem so far off that it can almost be a discouragement within itself. So write the vision!! Then write the stepping stones! You're going places pal! Thanks for being open.

And the background looks super cool!

  10. It's great that you're focusing on your dreams. I think one thing that's important to remember is that even as we dream big, God dreams bigger. I would pray about what God has in store for you, that you can't even imagine. Also: this outfit. It looks so snuggly and warm! How did you thrift that sweater? Epic!

  11. I liked the printed pants very much.
